Meet Chris Walton…

… he’s a jack of all trades — singer, songwriter, producer, and educator based in Boston. His current songs show his empathetic eye for his fellow man and a sober —sometime irreverent, sometimes sardonic— take on the world that dances around him.

He released his debut album, Ruminating Thoughts in January 2023. This album is a culmination of his music up to this point, including his releases “Soon” and “Cravin’,” that left fans eager to hear more from the chilled-out crooner. Chris has created an album of smooth, jazz kissed songs that tug at the heart strings of listeners with effortless relatability on love and loss of love.

He’s currently working on his sophomore album, set for release in late 2026.

Walton attended Berklee College of Music and is now a Professor of Songwriting at the very same institution.

Press

“Intimate, heartrending, and achingly soulful, Ruminating Thoughts is a beautiful, relatable collection of reflections on everyday life. Walton magnifies the little things, taking life’s passing moments with a fresh lens that helps us see the warmth, the wonder, and the beauty all around us.”

— Atwood Magazine

“Given that Ruminating Thoughts’ theme concerns the thoughts that keep him up at night, Walton says he has had to get comfortable with sharing his innermost feelings with the world. In fact, just before speaking to Headliner, he was tentatively working on his most vulnerable song yet.”

— Headliner Magazine

“"Whatcha Say" is a fantastic track about breakups on its own, but it sounds even better if you listen to the entire three-part, genre-bending love story told on Chris Walton's EP.”

GBH

“Focusing on the subtle parts of a love story that are not often sung about, his unique approach is paralleled beautifully by the way he blends and juxtaposes musical styles such as jazz, rock, R&B, and soul. Listeners already have a feel for these styles, but Chris’s approach is different: the seamless transitions between genres within a song will leave any listener wanting more.”

Sound of Boston

“Walton effortlessly displays the wide range in his vocals while paying homage to influences such as Sade, John Mayer and Lauryn Hill.”
